Ecological Worldviews: Wonder & Awe
All humans share the capacity to experience wonder—and possibly other animals, too. A person may be swept up in a moment of awe from an encounter with a landscape, tiny insect, piece of art, or flash of insight. A growing number of researchers are studying the causes and effects of such awe-filled experiences upon a human. These may include feeling a sense of meaning and belonging, developing resiliency when facing difficulties, and improvements to physical, psychological, and social health. Sources in this section are meant to help you understand wonder and encourage your wanderings through this inspiring world.
