Ecological Worldviews: Nature Therapy
Improved health, reduced stress levels, peace of mind, happiness, and a meaningful sense of inspiration—these are among the spectacular range of benefits to a person immersed in living ecosystems. Cultures around the world offer practices and perspectives which recognize these therapeutic offerings. The Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku (or “forest bathing”), eco-psychological counseling, mindfulness meditation in urban green spaces, and other forms of Nature Therapy (sometimes called ecotherapy) affirm the good medicine to any person rekindling their connection to and place within the more-than-human world.
