The Pantheism and Panentheism Project
The Pantheism and Panentheism Project was built upon another project sponsored by The John Templeton Foundation from 2011-2013 on “Exploring Alternative Concepts of God.” It was the first project which centered the work of analytic philosophers on alternative conceptions of the divine to traditional theism. While this project was larger, its scope is more narrow, focusing on pantheism and panentheism and some challenges facing both approaches to thinking about the metaphysics of the divine. The project ran from January 2017 through September 2019 and included: invite-only workshops at the Rutgers Center for Philosophy of Religion and the John Hick Centre for Philosophy of Religion at the University of Birmingham, public lectures at Marist College and the University of Birmingham, and a competition for stipends to support proposals by analytic philosophers and analytic theologians working on problems related to pantheism and panentheism.

Process & Faith
Process & Faith is a multi-faith network for relational spirituality and the common good that offers educational initiatives, interfaith collaborations, and resource creation. Process philosophy and theology offer a comprehensive vision of the world and better hopes for the world, inviting a sense of wonder and a recognition of the sacred, based on the interconnectedness, intrinsic value, and beauty present in all living things. This vision has been incredibly useful for many different religious and spiritual communities, including those who understand themselves as spiritual independents. Many in the Process & Faith network are influenced by the “organic” philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead, and the various “process philosophies” and “process theologies” that are indebted to it. The first phase of the Process & Faith movement focused primarily on Christian process theologies. The current phase recognizes many different forms of process or “organic” thinking: Christian, to be sure, but also Buddhist and Native American, Jewish and Muslim, Taoist and Confucian, etc. Process & Faith explore ideas, forms of spiritual vitality, and healing forms of action for the sake of enriching faith communities.
