Asia-Pacific Regional Hub – Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature

The Asia-Pacific Hub is a regional hub of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature. It is a network of organizations and individuals working together to promote and advance the Rights of Nature movement in the Asia Pacific region. The Asia Pacific Hub for the Rights of Nature was created at the GARN Global Meeting held at Siena, Italy in 2022.

Centre for Environmental Law and Policy

The Centre for Environmental Law and Policy (CELP) of the University of Colombo, intends to create a platform for research, policy development and collaboration among different fields including science, geography, economics, political science and business studies to build an environmentally conscious society.

Future Generations China

Future Generations China envisions a world where humans and nature co-exist with one another in harmony, and with balance between development and protection. As a not-for-profit organization aimed at advancing community-based conservation and sustainable development, Future Generations China focuses on fragile ecosystems that are of great ecological significance.

Navdanya

Navdanya is an Earth-centric, women-centric, and farmer led movement for the protection of biological and cultural diversity. Navdanya has conserved its rich seed heritage of nutritious, climate resilient food in more than 150 community seed banks freely saving, sharing and breeding native varieties. Navdanya means “nine seeds” (symbolizing protection of biological and cultural diversity) and also the “new gift” (for seed as commons), based on the right to save and share seeds.

Earth Jurisprudence Center: Promoting Earth Jurisprudence and Earth Law in Korea

Promoting Earth Jurisprudence and Earth Law in Korea, the Earth Jurisprudence Center supports the academic and educational activities of the Earth Jurisprudence Society through cooperation with related organizations both domestically and internationally, such as the United Nations Harmony with Nature. In collaboration with the Sun Pro Bono Center, the center holds the ‘Earth Jurisprudence Lecture Series’ four times a year. Additionally, it organizes various seminars, lectures, and conferences, and publishes newsletters to further promote Earth Law in Korea.

Asian Research Institute for Environmental Law

The Asian Research Institute for Environmental Law is dedicated to transforming the environmental and social governance landscape in the Asia-Pacific region. By championing the environmental rule of law, ARIEL aims to establish a new paradigm of environmental justice that fosters sustainability, equity, and resilience for the region and beyond. ARIEL envisions an Asia-Pacific region where environmental law drives inclusive and sustainable development.

Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law

Founded in 1996, the Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law (APCEL) is a research centre at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. APCEL is committed to promoting research-based capacity building and advancing innovative scholarship in a spirit of partnership. Since its inception, APCEL has pioneered a wide-ranging programme of teaching, research and outreach to galvanise the use of legal mechanisms to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and plastics pollution. Recent projects include research on the Paris Rulebook, sustainability standards, and environmental courts and tribunals. APCEL also brings internationally renowned scholars together, alongside industry and other civil society stakeholders, to share the latest thinking on environmental law and policy at seminars and conferences.

Asian Judges Network on Environment

The Asian Judges Network on Environment is an information and experience sharing arrangement among senior judges of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). This informal judicial network is committed to providing a dynamic forum for judicial capacity building and multilateral exchanges on environmental adjudication.
